Software Maintenance Service

For Gaaiho PDF Perpetual License

The Software Maintenance Services (henceforth, SMS) provides an economical way to receive product upgrades and get technical support. It does not only cover all updates, upgrades and technical support during the timeframe selected (starting from the purchase date), but is also a cost-effective way to upgrade product instead of buying new license, usually released on an annual basis. You may continue uninterrupted service in subsequent years by renewing your SMS subscription.

  • Definition on Update and Upgrade Zeon's definition of "upgrade" means a rise in the major version number, e.g. v6.5 to v7.0, whereas "update" means a rise in the minor version number, e.g. v7.1 to v7.5.
  • Upgrade and Support within SMS Coverage Perpetual license does not have an expiration date. However, free upgrade can only be obtained during the subscribed SMS period and user may go to Gaaiho PDF website and download new version. Priority technical support is also given to the subscribers.
  • Subscribing to SMS
    • A SMS option is available during the purchase process.
    • SMS fee has options for one, two or three years. Price table follows:

      1 year 30% of the license total
      2 years 55% of the license total
      3 years 75% of the license total
  • Advantages SMS entitles Licensees to the following advantages:
    • New Product Versions: Subscribers will automatically have access to the download area on the Gaaiho PDF Website through their account, where new, up-to-date product release versions will be available. Subscribers are advised to deactivate the product before installing the new version.
    • License Serial Number: Within SMS coverage, the user can stick to the original serial number without having to re-activate the copies one by one. The original serial number will remain valid and can be used to activate the new version.
    • Technical Support: If the software does not function according to the documentation or if there is a technical problem, the user can contact Gaaiho PDF support team (support.gaaiho.com) for help. The support tickets or requests submitted by subscribers to SMS will be given higher priority than those submitted by regular users.
  • Renewal of SMS The user may renew SMS on condition that the product has been upgraded under the coverage of a previous SMS plan. If the SMS has expired, the serial number will no longer be eligible for upgrade and high priority technical support will revert to standard priority.
  • Limitation The SMS does not include programming support or support unrelated to product fault.   • Added Copies All copies purchased/added to a license within the SMS coverage shall pay a prorated fee for each new copy.
  • Requesting Support Any subscriber to SMS who encounters problems with Gaaiho PDF products shall follow the instruction below.
    • Please contact us and describe the problem in detail. For conversion-related issues, attaching the original file and the converted file would shorten the time needed for troubleshooting; if the problem is related to connection, signing in or registration, please attach the log file (accessible by clicking the "View Log" button in "License Information" dialog box).
    • If it turns out to be a product error, Zeon shall try to deliver a patch available with the next build release.
    • If Zeon cannot be certain of the problem from the materials at hand, Zeon shall offer free remote login service for investigation.
    • If the problem is not related to our software, Zeon shall offer limited but reasonable advice and consultation service.
  • Condition without SMS
    • New Version Release within 30 Days: If any new version of the product is released within 30 days from the purchase date, licensee will be entitled to the new version at no additional cost.
    • New Versions after 30 Days: After 30 days from the date of purchase, licensee's free access to new Major versions upgrade will be cancelled.
    • Technical Support: Technical support is provided in the first 30 days after date of purchase. Any support request raised after the 30-day span will be treated with standard priority and the response time will vary in accordance with Zeon's available support resources.

    • License Serial Number: If the user subscribes to SMS after the purchase, a new serial number will be generated which might cause license control or management issue.
