About ZEON Corporation

1989

ZEON Corporation is founded in Taipei, originally specialized in electronic publishing and printing solutions for a wide range of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) clients, as well as end users. Major products included the DBCS, a stroke-based Asian font generation system, rendering technologies, a newspaper publishing system and Postscript RIP for several well-known newspaper companies.

1993

ZEON shifted its focus toward PDF (Portable Document Format), relying on its years of experience in digital printing technology. At this time ZEON established its R&D center in Beijing.

1995

At the Seybold Seminar in San Francisco, ZEON first demonstrated DocuCom's PDF technology, showcasing their PDF solutions including DBCS Asian character support. Most importantly, ZEON's new technology for embedding and displaying Asian fonts in PDF became the first of its kind for Windows.

1997

ZEON led the industry by launching the first Asian PDF products in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Japanese, and Korean.

2004

ZEON released its flagship PDF editing and creation program, DocuCom PDF Gold.
Soon afterward this inexpensive, professional PDF program was available through OEM partners, distributors, and VAR (Value Added Resellers) and released in the Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese markets.

2005

ZEON shifted gears once again and moved R&D towards unified communication and collaboration. This new line of software was to be named "Gaaiho", a Taiwanese aboriginal word for "Hello".

2009

Gaaiho was officially launched with the release of Gaaiho Enterprise and Gaaiho Works, providing companies with a diverse range of business solutions including Enterprise IM, live document collaboration, and online meetings. Gaaiho Doc, the evolution of PDF Gold, became the first program to offer word processing and PDF editing capabilities in one program.

2010

As the latest digital technology changes the way businesses operate, ZEON has continued to evolve. From its beginnings in the digital print industry, to PDF, and now online collaboration, the company's primary mission has remained unchanged – lead the industry by creating uncompromised, cutting-edge software.
